Latency charts

Updated 2026-10-09 · Pharos 1.0.0

Pharos keeps how long every HTTP, TCP and DNS check took. On the edit screen of a component with a check, the chart Response time · last 24 hours sits under the check settings and shows that time in milliseconds.

  • The 24 hours are split into 288 steps of five minutes. Each point is the average of the runs in that step.
  • A gap in the line means there was no measurement in that step: the check was not due, it was paused, or the run returned no time. Gaps are never filled in.
  • Under the chart you read the Maximum and the Average over the period.
  • A heartbeat has no response time, so its chart stays empty.
  • With probe locations, the chart shows the time measured by the local probe on the hub.

To show the chart to your visitors, tick Show response time on the public page on the component. It is off by default and set per component. The public chart shows the line and the two figures only: no target and no check message.

The chart reads the raw check results, which Pharos keeps for 40 days. See Uptime.
